A year like 2020 did not allow us to make an objective assessment, because of the emotional weight that events have carried on a human level, but it certainly lays a foundation on which to set the goals for 2021.
We have in fact managed to establish some fixed points in our company mission, building on the core values that drive us to work every day: we have a new office where we can work in harmony, a close-knit group that pursues and reaches its goals, a solid network of professional relationships to increase business opportunities, and membership of the trade associations that define our working reality even better.
And it is precisely from here that we started again this January, to define the goals to reach.
Human capital and client portfolio: the first goals
Starting precisely from a new office, which has given rise to a united team that has kept working steadily despite the pandemic, dotenv is committed to working on the key element: human capital.
Human relationships are fundamental in any working and professional relationship, but people are often taken for granted. Those who support a company, from its employees to its external partnerships, have a value that cannot be quantified in purely economic terms, but can be in terms of corporate reputation.
From people, and from the value they bring to dotenv, we start again to expand our so-called “client portfolio”: not a list, in our vision, but professionals and entrepreneurs with whom to exchange ideas in order to create innovative IT solutions and establish valuable business partnerships.

Company values and business opportunities
Have you ever thought about it? The letters that make up the Italian words “valore” (value) and “lavoro” (work) are practically the same. That is why bringing them together becomes essential for us. Value in terms of what moves us every day, value to pass on to those who choose to rely on us, value from the point of view of credibility and reputation.
This is why last year we already joined Confindustria Emilia area centro, to play an active part in the process of building the business fabric. And it is for the same reason that we intend to go ahead with obtaining the ISO 9001 (quality and processes) and ISO 27001 (security) certifications, which help organisations develop and improve their performance, as well as demonstrating the level of quality of the service to potential clients. The goal is to obtain these certificates within the year.
dotenv is also a supplier on the MePA circuit, the Mercato Elettronico della Pubblica Amministrazione, a virtual marketplace in which legally valid supply contracts can be signed online, through the use of the digital signature, to promote the optimisation of the procurement of public goods and services. This will allow us to get to know new organisations and at the same time develop new proposals and solutions: a challenge we are ready to take up and to win.
